Healing doesn’t happen in isolation — it happens in relationship: with ourselves, with others, and with something larger. My work as a therapist is rooted in a feminist, trauma‑informed, and anti‑oppressive practice that recognizes how personal pain and systemic realities intertwine.

I bring a bio‑psycho‑social‑spiritual lens to therapy, meaning we consider the whole of your experience — your body, mind, relationships, culture, identity, and sense of meaning — not just the symptoms. Together, we look at what keeps you stuck, what’s asking to emerge, and what healing could look like in your life now.

who I work with

I work with women in transition, survivors of violence and exploitation, and people navigating trauma, loss, or identity shifts.

Clients often come to me when they’re rebuilding after significant change: the end of a relationship, a major life disruption, or a sense that the old ways of coping no longer fit.

I also work with men and young adults, male survivors of sexual violence, parents with children who have been sexually abused, as well as individuals who’ve encountered harm in systems meant to support them.

Across all populations, I hold space for complexity — for grief and growth, for self‑reclamation, for the layered nature of recovery.

How i work

My approach is relational and collaborative. I draw on evidence‑based modalities such as EMDR, Emotion‑Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, attachment and human development theories while integrating them within a feminist and spiritually grounded frame.

The goal isn’t simply to “manage” symptoms, but to build safety in your mind, body and spirit, clarity in your story, and a renewed sense of agency in your life.

I aim to create a space where you can meet yourself with compassion, curiosity, and courage — a space where healing is possible without pretending your pain exists in a vacuum.

Whether you’re a survivor seeking safety, a woman in transition navigating what’s next, or simply someone ready to reconnect with yourself, therapy is a place to start that conversation.

In person sessions are available in person in West End Toronto and Newmarket, Ontario, or virtually across the province.

Megan MacLean is also a Non-Insured Health Benefits provider to First Nations and Indigenous folks living in Ontario, persons with refugee or protected person status through the Interim Federal Health Program and survivors of crime and their caregivers who are eligible for the Victim Quick Response Program.
